A place to heal

If I sat in a place like this, among the tall trees, beside the river, sitting on a huge rock, listening to the birds sing, and the whooshing wind, I could get lost in my own thoughts dreaming. This is the best place to be alone in quietness. Away from the noisy neighbors, the busy traffic, loud music, the chaos, stress and trouble.

I could sit here all day dreaming, enjoying the mystical scent of my environment, finding inner peace and healing, embracing nature and its beauty. Oh how I wish I could travel to a place like that. To be left alone. To be able to be free. Away from fear, pain and grief, I sigh.

Here I am, staring out my window, looking at the busy street. Soon I will need to take my medication, soon I will hear the nurse’s heavy footsteps approaching and her gentle voice in a whisper saying, “are you ready for your last shot?”

I lie down to sleep and to dream of this forest I see.

  2. Such a beautiful and yet sad and touching story! I hope the “last shot” doesn’t mean she is dying. Lovely story Carol!! Welcome to the FFfAW challenge. We are happy you have joined us!
