Life like a trolley

Never watched Meet in St. Louise, but the “trolley” prompted me to write this as a response:

Life like a trolley

Stands in shop

So empty

Waiting to be filled

Along comes a shopper

Takes the trolley away

And fills it right up

Until the trolley is full

The trolley is satisfied

Now it has fulfilled its purpose

For the day

Do you know your purpose for today?

Like a trolley

I too have a purpose

If not for my whole life

At least for a day

  1. Beautiful poem. I loved your response comparing life to a trolley and how we need to find our purpose for today. That’s a very good way to look at things, at each day in life. Do you write for this flash fiction challenge? If not, I recommend it, you can write flash fiction or poetry 175 words or less. 🙂 Thanks for sharing my piece. Also if you have the chance it really is one of Judy Garland’s best role besides Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. It’s a musical (as many old movies) but in color 🙂

    1. I don’t write for the flash fiction challenge but since you mentioned it, I’ll consider it. I will watch the movie too 🙂 (y)
